Serenity Retreat
Frontend rebuild, analytics integration, data pipeline migration, and a custom PHP calendar sync plugin for a wellness retreat.
The Problem
A wellness retreat needed their web presence modernized. The existing frontend was outdated, analytics were nonexistent, data pipelines were fragile, and their booking calendar had no integration with their internal systems.
I took this on as a pro bono contribution to a project I believed in.
What I Built
This was a multi-faceted engagement covering frontend, backend, and infrastructure:
- Frontend rebuild: modernized the client-facing site with improved responsiveness and performance
- Analytics implementation: set up Google Analytics with custom event tracking to give the client visibility into visitor behavior and booking funnel metrics
- Data pipeline migration: moved fragile manual data flows to more reliable automated processes
- Custom PHP calendar plugin: built a bespoke plugin to sync their booking calendar with internal management systems via REST APIs
Constraints
I'm happy to discuss specifics in a conversation, but I'm keeping the public write-up limited out of respect for client privacy. The technical depth here was less about any single system and more about managing multiple workstreams for a non-technical client: translating business needs into technical deliverables and shipping incrementally.
